Call for clarity as TAFE-unilines blur

The Australian, Wednesday,01/09/2010 p23

Notes

*Simon Marginson encourged government clarify TAFE-uni
*Leesa Wheelahan ponited out TAFE has being pushed aside and advise awarding associate degrees
*Michale Gallagher disagree on unifiied tertiary sector framwork
*tWheelahan indicated the AQF's agenda played the big role

Summary

Simon Marginson encoraged the government to clarify TAFE-uni,as there is a problem of making TAFE to supply more  degrees. Even research activity could be supported by differentiated funding to improve if clarity made.
Leesa Wheelahan pointed out TAFE has being pushed aside by universities and schools .And she suggested VET to provid associate degrees,but it would bring hard for TAFE has a compitition with  universities .
Michale Gallagher disagree on unified tertiary sector framwork.
Wheelahan indicated the AQF's agenda played the big role to have  the sectors consistent,as well as makeing VET qualifications concern more on the aims of education.

Personal reflection

In my view ,the government should encourage  and back TAFE ,as more opportunities are available to students which can help them to take their place in the community.

The Australian,Wendsday,25/08/2012  p21
Notes
* NBN more benifitial to regional students
* wirless not good on health
* fibre increases amazingly
* NBN improve education
* tax counteract expenditure
* Universities support NBN
* students need NBN

Summary
NBN plans to upgrade broadband which is more benifitial to regional students.
Otherwise, wrieless solutions are not good on health as well as fibre could be increased amazingly according to Dr Culter.
NBN have been making education productivity better by high-quality videoconferencing.
Expenditure would be counteracted by tax.
Universities professers support NBN to stretch high-speed, high -quality of broadband to help students learning.
Graham said that students need better and more reliable  bandwidth for study, .

Personal reflections
I think we should fully use the available technology to support our study, but also have to consider its effect on our health.
